Colloquiums

A colloquium was organized by JSB on 17th of August 2013 in which Mr.Sandip Chowdhury, Senior General Manager-Logistics, Dalmia Group was the speaker. In his address to students Mr.Chowdhury talked about meaning of Supply Chain Management, philosophy, relation between SCM and logistics, importance and challenges of SCM. Sample case studies and videos on SCM functioning like video on Mumbai Dabbawala was shown. The students were thrilled to get a glimpse of the corporate world from such an eminent personality.

Guest lecture by Ruby Kankaria

A guest lecture program was organized by JSB on 24th of August 2013. Miss Ruby Kankaria, Assistant Manager, HR- HCL Technologies, Kolkata enlightened the students on how MBA study would be helpful for the students to become a future leader.

The program was graced by the presence of Dr.Amit Chakladar, Dean JSB,Ms. Poushali Dey, Faculty JSB and Mr. Bipul Chanda,Training and Placement Officer JSB. The program commenced with the introduction of the guest and then she made an open house question, “What was the reason behind opting PGDM as a future course of studies?” which was followed by, “What are the qualities of a leader?”. A full house response to both the questions set the stage for further discussion. A power point presentation was given about “What recruiters look for in the time of interview”. Basic information about do's and don’ts during an interview were shared by Miss Kankaria.
